Now that I am officially done with school, I have no excuse not to be updating this thing on a regular basis. . .

So what's to come? Well an Etsy is in the works, and I am also applying to to an art fair in Ann Arbor. The After Show will be held at the Con Artists Crew Gallery September 15th, and is being hosted by none other than the talented Ryan Weiss. Myself and a whole slew of very talented artists will have work present, you don't want to miss it!

For the love of BEER

I'm not usually one to go about showing my "student work" to the world. However I particularly enjoyed the metals class I had this semester and  I put a lot of time and effort in to this little fella -

It's a locket. . . but not just any locket. We had to make a reliquary, to house a relic, AKA something sacred to us. Well what is more important to us then delicious craft beer my friends? I figured short of crafting a beer mug out of copper, that a locket to hold some left over Michigan Beer Fest tickets would suffice. I am very pleased with the result!

In other news, 30X30 was a hit for both Ryan and I! Huge thanks to all that came out. I will definitely participate again next year if I'm invited back!

Stay tuned, I swear I will update in a more timely manner now that the school semester is over. Both Ryan and I will be at the Con Artist Crew Gallery in the "NIGHTVISION" show next Saturday May 5th. Check out the facebook event if you'd like to attend- NIGHTVISION

30 x 30 work! (finally)

One word to sum up my life as a whole right now, BUSY! Work, school, and getting ready for this show have most definitely put a damper on my social life, not to mention my tolerance for alcohol. But enough complaining, check out what I've been up to!

All are screen prints on birch plywood

13 more to go!

So, it's official. . .

I have never been much of one for blogging, my lack of posts is a testament to that. I am going to have to make a real effort to keep up with this! I have been very busy preparing for the 30x30 show, stay tuned for some sneak peaks of that work hopefully within the next week. If you'd like to take a look at what some of the other 30x30 artist are doing, visit their facebook page, artists have already begun loading some of their work!

In the mean time, I'll leave you with a short series that I worked on last semester.  I have been referring to it as the "Woodland Creatures of Michigan" series. I really enjoyed making these prints, the work for 30x30 is definitely going to have a similar vibe as this short series.

Oh, HEY.

Check out the postcard design I did! Printed on to some sturdy chipboard, and sealed with a clear matte acrylic in order to survive the postal process.

. . .  Oh yeah and did I mention? I Got into the 30X30 show at the Ann Arbor Art Center!30X30 is a sale of 30 works by 30 artists for sale for $40 each. Half of the profit goes to the Art For Kids Program which allows low-income households to take Art Center courses for free.
Very excited to be a part of this!
